The Shot Gun

I've remodeled the shotgun, for I didn't do it very well the first time by using the modeling tactic I'm unfamiliar. That's why I remodeled it with my original way. This is the second shot gun.

Critical game studies – workshops week 6

My Choice of work for assignment 2: Forrest Gump.
It was originally a novel wrote by Winstom Groom in 1986, since its popularity it has been made into film in 1993 and release in 1994. The theme presents the history of America from WW2 recovery period to early 1980 in the view of Forrest Gump. The story of the film is about a mildly retard but gentle and nice person – Forrest Gump, he overcome his inherent disadvantage and conquer many problem in his life with the support of his friends and family.
I think apparently one of the aims of this movie is to encourage people, to tell them that even Forrest can complete a successful and happy life. Although some parts of the film (novel) is a bit unrealistic, but it’s usually a kinds of humour adds into the film to makes it interesting. Asides from that, it is indeed one of my favourite film.

Critical game studies – workshops week 5

Story generation exercise

The Protagonist has lost his memory at the beginning of the story. He found him self at the end of the dungeon with piles of dead body lies around. He walks out of the dungeon and knows it is medieval age and the continent is almost conquered by the great lord – prince of the Devils. He starts the adventure of finding his own memory, however, at end of the road he finds out that he is the prince of the Devils himself.

Critical game studies – workshops week 4

There are different theories presented this week but I prefer to stick with the original theory - play the game only for fun and interest. Because it is the first and most important of all theory, the history of video games is merely about 50 years I think it is too early to use it as other propose than just playing the game.

Critical game studies – workshops Week 3

I’ve played a few red and white family computer (FC) Nintendo video games when I was small. One of my favourite is the Contra (I can’t remember which version was it exact) develop in 1987 by Konami. It was very popular at the time and have published to other console. The game is great because of its simple and successful Game Play; it is 2d arcade platforms shoot them up, offers 2 player co-op, the player (usually) runs from left to right, shoots every aliens that moves and collect six different weapons, there are no health so it is a one hit kill game, that’s about all the rules in contra. The game features attractive 2d graphic varies of enemy and each level has a boss fight in the end. Although you can only use only of the six weapons in the game but they are very well balanced and interesting. Compares to the other contemporary games it has the same feeling of simple game play, however, it is totally different when you starts playing it, you wants to simply keep playing it and not throw away the controller after 3 minutes, for it’s successful game play.
